Background:
Decision-maker, who wants to choose a specific number of shares to construct an optimal portfolio, faces a complex decision-making process. It must compare the shares of many companies, which are described by a set of characteristics. These ratings reflect the investment attractiveness of a particular stock and may occur either in the quantitative or qualitative form. Because the model assumes finite number of shares and finite number of evaluation criteria, the problem can be seen as multi-criteria discrete decision problem. The results (optimal portfolios) are shown in two alternative solutions: “Best to Worst” and “Worst to Best”, and both can be analyzed on graphs.
